Twitter now has a dedicated video tab on mobile but you might need my help to find it! This video tab is currently only available in the US. Premium users have the option to customize navigation icons and can add the video tab to the bottom row of the screen, although we are limited to six icons that can be displayed on the app.
Instagram has ditched the square layout of your profile grid and opted instead for a vertical layout. We can adjust and remove posts from the grid to help manage the visual aesthetic of the new vertical layout by choosing between different background and preview options (based on the type of content).
You might notice a pattern -- all of the popular platforms are in a race to grab users' attention while keeping them engaged the same way they are on TikTok. This is why vertical video is so popular these days among platforms that paid little attention to video and layout in the past. Even if you have never used TikTok you have to admit it's one of the most talked about and copied platforms in the social media landscape. Look for more of this to continue throughout 2025.
